Lets start at the very beginning

A very good place to start.

This pattern was born out of Wingspan and is named for its shape.

Colimaçon - French noun for a spiral, a snail shell, or a slow person.

Put simply it is wingspan without casting on stitches at the beginning of each triangle.  This gives a smooth bottom edge and progressively smaller triangles, this resulting in a distinctively assymetric shape.  My worry is that it is too assymteric to be wearable.  That is for you to decide.

It sounds simple but a lot of calculations have gone into it so far to get the right angles and yarn meterages.

It started with cut out designs.  There were many variations but this is the one I settled on (backed up by Gabe and Mnky)

This had a 1:3 ratio triangle and 16 stitch stagger like Wingspan.  After some calculations I knitted in Aade 8/1 laceweight starting with 144 stitches and ended up with this.

Which blocked to this:

I am not sure how easy it is to wear though
